SRIO Links

Top  Previous  Next

The C6455 processor from TI includes serial Rapid IO links (SRIO). These devices appear in Diamond as links of type 'SRIO'. The Sundance SMT362 module provides two C6455 processors connected by two SRIO lanes (SRIO:0, and SRIO:1). The other two lanes (SRIO:2 and SRIO:3) are connected to the FPGA. Please refer to the SMT362 documentation for further details.

The SRIO lanes are handled separately; it is not possible to use SRIO in 4-lane mode.

SRIO links can not be used to load processors.

Dragons003Diamond's SRIO links are designed for communication between Diamond tasks; they are not general-purpose SRIO links. A simple protocol is used on the links to overcome limitations in the SRIO specification; this protocol cannot support connections to hardware that does not manage the links with Diamond.
