Sequential Programs

This section shows you how to use Diamond to write conventional sequential programs to run on a CPU; using an FPGA is covered in a separate section. Make yourself familiar with the contents of this section before you progress to the later sections explaining parallel programming.

 

These instructions assume that you have already installed Diamond and have set it up as described in the installation section .

 

The process of converting one or more source files into an application ready for running takes three steps:

1.

Compiling source files into object files;

2.

Linking sets of object files into tasks; and

3.

Configuring one or more tasks into an executable application.
