3LDiamondPreferences

At the top level you can change the default processor type that is used to select a processor type when you create a new processor, and you can select options that control how applications are executed. You can find out more about the execution options under Server Options.

If you have multiple carrier boards, you can select the one to use in the Hardware Link-Driver and Board sections. there is more information about these options under Selecting your Board.

Monitoring

These options control output generate to show the protocol between your system and the host PC.  They are unlikely to be of interest to the majority of users.

Proctypes

These options control user-defined processor types.

ProctypePreferences

Ticking the Advanced: Allow creation of proctypes preference adds an extra entry, Create Processor Type, to the menu you get when right-clicking a project. Clicking this entry brings up a dialog that allows you to create new processor types. This is an advanced feature and should not be needed by most users. Randomly creating arbitrary processor types is likely to lead to obscure errors.

User-defined proctypes appear in the Diamond source view. Right-clicking the proctype there gives you the option of deleting it.

Templates

Templates provide a way to encapsulate structures of processors and wires that you may wish to use frequently.

Templates

Ticking Enable User Templates adds the items Extract a User Template and Instantiate a Template to the menu you get when right-clicking a project.

You can also tick the Create new projects based on a template box to select a structure of processors and wires that will be created automatically when you create a new project.

TI Linker

The TI Linker options box provides a place where you can add text that to be included at the end of every command sent to the TI linker when you build your DSP tasks. You can also set linker options for individual tasks.
