Clicking 
selects page mode and sets an indicator at the bottom right of the main window.
This has the effect of pausing output every time the number of lines needed to fill the visible output area has been displayed.
Clicking 
restarts output for the next screenful. You can leave page mode by pressing again. Page mode is useful when you have an application that generates large amounts of output to stdout or stderr.
