Importing and Exporting

Top  Previous  Next

The Diamond IDE allows you to import projects from an external source and also to export projects in a form that is independent of the IDE.

Dragons003Dragons003By clicking File and then selecting Import you get to an Eclipse page that appears to allow you to import projects. You are most strongly advised not to use this dangerous feature of Eclipse. By default, Eclipse does not copy an imported project but creates partial references to other objects. Failing to tick the box Copy projects into workspace creates an incomplete project and you will be tempted to delete it. Doing so destroys the project you are trying to copy. If you accidentally import a project without copying it, you should attempt the following recovery procedure.

Recovery procedure

You should follow this procedure if you accidentally import a project using the File menu without copying the files. Failure to do this could result in the original files being deleted.
