The IDE can generate configuration files for you. In the simple example, you have to specify how much data the program needs and which device to use.
You specify the data size (stack and heap) by double-clicking the task and selecting Task Options/Other/Memory:
You can select the particular processor to use by double-clicking the processor's name and selecting Advanced/Extra options:
