Default Firmware

The FPGAs on Lyrtech boards are used to implement communication resources needed by your application. Diamond has built-in default firmware that provides some standard communication resources and this default is used when possible to avoid having to build new bitstreams, speeding-up compilation considerably. Using communication resources different from those provided by default requires the creation of one or more new FPGA bitstreams. Placing tasks in an FPGA also forces the creation of a new bitstream.
